Sustaining profitable business growth is difficult for established enterprises in today’s networked economy. Good ideas can emerge from anywhere, and the next big competitor could even be a start-up. Businesses are aware, and desperately seek new strategies, tools, and technologies to cope with the accelerated innovation environment that has been created due to rapid advancements in technology. Many are also aware they suffer from innovation inefficiencies due to disjointed processes, tools, data, and organizational silos, but are hesitant to try new approaches or invest in new solutions. This session will provide an overview of a recent research study by CIMdata that defines an innovation solutions framework. It will then open up to discussion with innovation executives about the challenges they face and the approaches and solutions they are finding useful.

More than half a century later, the two organizations reconnected at a scientific conference which led Battelle to explore the opportunity of working with the Xerox Research Center of Canada (XRCC) to help scale up their patented SMART BEAD technology. During this work, a cultural and scientific synergy was discovered between the two organizations. Building on this synergy, Battelle and XRCC now propose to co-market INTERFACE BY DESIGN, a comprehensive platform for building higher function into coatings and other surfaces. Jon and Matt will describe the relationship in more detail, show examples of how each partner brings crucial elements to projects and proposals, and how a business teaming arrangement has the potential to be greater than the sum of its parts.|
